Ostrich Farms


Oudtshoorn is well known for its ostrich farms, beautiful feather and ostrich egg product and accessories. Experience Ostrich’s back riding or stand on their enormous eggs (1 ostrich egg has the volume of 40 chicken eggs and weighs approximately 1.3kg). Well worth a visit. Allow 1 hour.

Cango Caves


The Cango Caves situated 29kms from Oudtshoorn. Fascinating lime stone formations in a wide variety of colours. See the stalactites and stalagmites. Allow 1,5 hours.

The Cango Wildlife Ranch

View crocodile, tiger, lion, jaguar, puma – and even touch a cheetah.

Mossel Bay


A quaint coastal village and harbour situated alongside the Indian Ocean with the Outeniqua Mountains in the distance. This is the historical capital of the garden route.

Visit the 800 year old Post Office Tree (free)
The Dias Maritime Museum is home of the life-size replica of the Bartholemeu Dias Caravel (the ship on which he sailed into Mossel Bay in 1488).
Visit the Granary Museum which has a display of fresh specimens of wild flowers found in the region.
Also visit the Cultural History Museum, the Shell Museum and many historical buildings

Well known for its fresh oysters.

Drive out to The Knysna Heads, two sandstone cliffs guarding the entrance to the lagoon.
Take a ferry to the Featherbed Nature Reserve, or shop at the waterfront shopping complex.
Home of the annual Knysna Oyster festival held in July.

Plettenberg Bay


A tranquil, charming seaside town unofficially known as the whale capital of the world and the jewel of the garden route.

Visit the Robberg nature Reserve with its many walking and hiking trails.
Excellent for viewing cliff based whales and dolphins. In Winter Southern Right whales are resident in the bay.
Relax on beautiful sandy beaches.

Nature’s Valley


A small village nestled in the Tsitsikamma National Park forest, at the mouth of the Groot River (Big River) – and forms part of the Tsitsikamma De Vasselot Nature Reserve.

Nature’s Valley is situated 29km from Plettenberg Bay and is a bird watcher’s paradise boasting to be the home of the Knysna Loerie.
Also see Bottle nosed dolphins and Southern Right whales playfully swimming in the Indian Ocean.
Many scenic day walks.
Travel 20kms to bungee jump off the Bloukraans Bridge – the highest bungee jump in the world at 216m.



Well known for its bird and marine life.

Visit the 800 year old Big Tree.
Drive down to Storms River Mouth and enjoy short walking trails into the forest.
